Hunger:
West Georgia

The Solution
Stable access to healthy nutritional foods and hygiene products is very critical to a bright future for children, homeless, and seniors. Adults who are chronically sick and missing work will have a difficult time holding down a job.
Children that are too hungry to concentrate will struggle in school. Seniors have to make a crucial decision of either food, medicine, or pay rent. Homeless that are living on the streets. That’s when we step in…
Graceful Hearts, Inc is working to increase access to nutritious, wholesome foods and provide hygiene products which is a necessity for people’s lives and implement a health-focused plan of action.
To achieve our vision of a hunger-free West Georgia, we must address the root causes of hunger and deepen our understanding of structural and systemic inequities that disproportionately impact marginalized West Georgia communities in need of assistance and partnerships that will break the cycle of food insecurity and chronic diseases to help make sure West Georgia are hunger-free, and healthy.
If we can step in early to relieve or even prevent food insecurity, we have a good chance of moving families from crisis to stability, and ultimately to thrive.

Unemployed and poverty disproportionately affect
African Americans making --- combatting hunger…
Hunger hits African American communities harder. Poverty rates for African American household’s face hunger at a rate more than twice that of white, non-Hispanic households. And getting enough to eat is a consistent struggle for 1 in 4 African American children.
